My Granny
My granny, my dear granny,
Once young and pretty,
Now old, so old, terribly old, but still she’s always pretty.
Running all her face, criss-cross of wrinkles,
And, all about the house, she hobbles.
Always in spotless white,
Never she forgets to get me sweet bite.
She told me games,as she played as a child.
She fetched me school, as I was a child.
She’s tall and lean and slightly bent,
She’s my dear granny that God has sent.
Her lips move constantly,
Saying prayers inaudibly.
Crows and sparrows are her friends,
Oh no! the list never ends.
I love my granny very much,
And none can have a granny such.
She's like the great Himalayan mountains,
Breathing in peace and contentment.
Though all great heights I attain,
Always in her absence, only pains remain.
